Taking Part in Under Oath
If this is the kind of game you want to play, the next step is to see how to take part.
This is not an automated process. Participation depends on fit—both for you and for the game.
Step 1: Understand how play works
Play is conversational and decision-driven. You describe what your character attempts, respond to what is happening around you, and work with other characters to deal with evolving situations.
Outcomes are not guaranteed. Decisions carry consequences, and situations do not reset. You are expected to stay engaged, pay attention, and take part in what is happening at the table.
You do not need to purchase anything to participate. All materials needed to play will be provided.
The game is not intended to be graphic or extreme, but it does involve conflict, risk, and decisions with consequences. The exact tone of play is influenced by the group. I aim to keep sessions running smoothly and without friction, but I do not tightly control tone beyond that. It may not be suitable for all audiences.
Step 2: Make sure the setting fits
Under Oath takes place in Caldris, a grounded setting shaped by obligation, consequence, and limited means.
You do not need to know the details in advance, but you should be comfortable with the tone and assumptions of the world. If you have not already done so, review the setting overview before proceeding.
Step 3: Signal interest
If you are still interested, submit a request to join.
Please only do this if you are prepared for a game where outcomes are uncertain and decisions have lasting consequences.
After you submit, you will be contacted to discuss fit and next steps.
I review requests promptly, but I run these games alongside other commitments, so availability to join a game is limited.
The game is open to players regardless of race, gender, or other personal characteristics. These are not barriers to participation.
If you’re interested but unsure, you can explore the rest of the site for examples, short vignettes, and artwork that illustrate the setting.
